To manage, organize and supervise all phases of Catered events and service, including training, planning menus, forecasting, ordering food, supervising, meeting with clients, working with conference coordinator, invoicing and billing, food preparation and serving food to customers at Catering Events.
Develop an effective working relationship and positively influence and motivate staff. Ensure that departmental standards for quality customer service and food quality are achieved for Catered events. Meet with customers, cost out menus, input all events on outlook, issue invoices, track billing. Organize and direct all catered events from the beginning to the end of service at any locations including communicating with area managers and chefs of food production. In addition, meet with warehouse to coordinate all deliveries. Execute all catered events. Determine needs, establish goals, set direction and evaluate product movement for catered functions. Serve as back-up for dining manager and supervisors when requested. Oversee staff of 1 full time. Drive UT vehicle as needed. Maintain current knowledge of all areas of responsibilities, the University, its environment, purpose and affairs; manage and evaluate employees including professional, support, and student staff.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
High school graduation or GED. Two years experience in food service. One year experience in a supervisory capacity and service management. One year experience in catering and culinary arts. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Associate Degree or equivalent. Over 3 years experience supervising catering events. Three years experience with banquet arrangements, menus and recipes. Demonstrated ability to perform strategic planning and the ability to work in a fast paced environment supervising a diverse staff. Experience with data entry, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Experience with food production software. Demonstrated good computer literacy. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and customer service skills and professional demeanor. Licenses: Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident. Have and maintain a current ServSafe Certificate or current Travis County Food Handlers Card. Demonstrated ability to receive, respond, and follow through with verbal work related instructions from supervisors, customers, and co-workers. Bilingual in English and Spanish.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
